Abstract Basic Legislation establishes legal, organizational, economic and organizational principles of the protection of public health, regulates social relations in the aforementioned sphere for the purpose of ensuring harmonious development of physical and spiritual forces, high capacity for work and long life expectancy of citizens, removal of factors causing negative impact on their health, prevention and reduction of sickness rate, disability and mortality and improvement of heredity. The document consists of XII sections that contain 80 articles. Section I (arts. 1-5) lays down general provisions. Section II (arts. 6-11) establishes rights and duties of citizens in the sphere of the protection of public health. Section III (arts. 12-24) regards organization of the protection of public health. Section IV (arts. 25-32) regards ensuring healthy and safe living conditions. Section V (arts. 33-53) regards medical and prophylactic assistance. Section VI (arts. 54-56) regards provisions with medicines. Section VII (arts. 57-66) regards protection of maternity and childhood. Section VIII (arts. 67-68) regards medical and sanitary assistance at health resorts. Section IX (arts. 69-73) regards medical expertise. Section X (arts.74-78) regards medical and pharmaceutical activity. Section XI (art. 79) regards international cooperation.
