Abstract

This Act concerns the development of land described in the Schedule. Section 3 provides for the creation of the Bermuda Land Development Company Limited. The general purpose of the Company is to manage, or oversee the management of, the land entrusted to it with a view: (a) generally, to the integration of that land into the economic and social fabric; (b) in particular, to the creation of opportunities for increased employment now and in the future, in furtherance of the well-being of the present and future generations of Bermudians. The Government may lease land to the Company pursuant to section 9. The Minister may give a direction to the Company under section 12. The land entrusted to the Company is land formerly forming part of naval bases.
