This Act enters into force immediately.
Abstract

This Act provides for the creation of the Bangladesh Sericulture Board. The previous Bangladesh Sericulture Board, Bangladesh Sericulture Research and Training Institute, and the establishment of Bangladesh Silk Foundation merged into the Bangladesh Sericulture Board. It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Board, entitled to: to plan and develop sericulture and the silk industry; to encourage scientific, technological and economic research and training in sericulture; to rear, develop and distribute healthy silkworm seeds; to improve the quality and production of raw silk; etc.
