Abstract This Act, consisting of 30 sections, creates the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council. It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Council, as a statutory body who has permanent continuity, a common seal and, subject to the provisions of this Act, shall have the power to acquire, possess, and transfer both movable and immovable properties.The Executive Council shall be responsible to the governing body in the exercise of its power and execution of the functions and shall follow the directions and orders issued from time to time. The purpose of the Council shall be to make research, planning, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of agricultural research through the institutes and associate organizations aimed at national requirements.
