Abstract

This Act assists and regulates the banana industry in the Queensland territory. The Act establishes the Banana Industry Protection Board, whose composition, functions and powers are set in details in sections 4 to 13. Under section 14, the banana industry fund is continued in existence and has to be administered by the Board. Under section 20, a regulation may levy upon all growers of bananas an assessment as may be recommended by the Board. Provisions are made on inspections and on offences and penalties (sect. 27).
