This text also contains the Guidelines for approval of ballast water management systems. The Ballast Water Management Systems Approval Code (BWMS Code) is aimed primarily at Administrations or their designated bodies to assess whether ballast water management systems (BMSs) meet the standard set out in Regulation D-2 of the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships' Ballast Water and Sediments.
