Abstract

This Regulation, based on Article 49(1) of Proclamation No 87/2005 and Proclamation No. 16/1997, establishes the Bale Forest Enterprise as an autonomous public enterprise and defines its objectives, functions and powers. The Enterprise shall be accountable to the Oromia Regional Forest Enterprises Supervising Agency. The Enterprise shall have the following objectives: to sustainable manage and develop forest resources in its concession area; to ensure sustainable management of biodiversity conservation; to contribute to socio-economic conditions of the local community. Among its duties, there are development of a management plan and development of wildlife resources. The Regulation also describes the concession area and provides with respect to the administration of the Enterprise.
