Abstract

The present Regulation enacts the Plant Pest and Diseases Act. In particular, the Regulation lays down provisions relating to the fight against bacterial ring rot in potatoes. Section 5 establishes that a person who discovers or suspects the presence of bacterial ring rot in potatoes in the field, in transit, in storage, at a processing plant or at a packing house must promptly notify an inspector about the discovery or suspicion. The text – consisting of 12 sections – deals with the following matters: use of non-certified seed potatoes, records of commercial crop, reporting of disease, restricting of movement, requirements for disinfection, activities of inspectors, fees, disclosing information about bacterial ring rot and two years break of planting any potato.
