Abstract

The aim of the present Ordinance is to prevent the spread of avian influenza from wild birds to poultry or other captive birds, as well as the contamination of products thereof. Article 1 establishes that the keeping of poultry and other birds shall be notified to the competent authority within 1 week. This applies also to zoos, animal homes and pets and small animal keeping places, with the exception of birds always kept indoors. The Annex lays down the areas involving a particular risk factor. The text consists of 5 articles and 1 Annex.
