Abstract

A corporate body to be known as the Australian Wool Research and Promotion Organization is established under section 5. The Corporation shall: (a) undertake generic promotion of the use of wool and wool products in Australia and overseas through equal employment opportunity program; (b) investigate and evaluate requirements for research and development in relation to the wool industry; (c) provide funds for research and development; (e) facilitate the dissemination, adoption and commercialization of the results of research and development; and (f) develop or implement, or to arrange for the development or implementation of, programs to maintain and improve the quality of Australian wool, being: (i) monitoring programs in relation to chemical residues in wool; or (ii) education programs in relation to chemical residues in wool.
