Abstract

The Act makes provision for reports research and monitoring activities with respect to Atlantic tuna, annual reports catches and import requirements to be submitted by the Secretary of Commerce to committees of the Senate and the House of Representatives, and a preliminary determination of the level of United States commercial and recreational catch of Atlantic yellowfin tuna. The Act amends the Atlantic Tuna Convention Act 1975 with respect to working procedures of the Advisory Committee, enforcement of the Atlantic Tuna Convention, fines and permit sanctions, and authorization of appropriations.
