The Guidelines concern: forest fires prevention, roads management, the maintenance and management of paths, panoramic stopping points, equipped areas and cycle paths, in order to allow visitors, tourists and forest users to make a sustainable use of forest resources. The Guidelines include: the collection of the general territorial elements, related to each forest area subject to planning; the qualitative and quantitative analysis and processing of the elements acquired; the definition of the objectives and expected results to be achieved. The Guidelines focus on: the general situation of the Sicilian forests, from an administrative, geographic and cadastral point of view, the types of forests and their phytosanitary conditions; the description of infrastructures (firebreak avenues, forestry roads); a detailed description of the forest soil with regard to any critical issues including fire risk; biotic and abiotic adversities, responsible for plant diseases; description of forest management interventions; interventions register.
