Abstract This Act, consisting of 25 sections completed by two Schedules, aims to regulate the quality of fish seed for production, marketing and stocking in water bodies in the state of Assam. The State Government shall constitute the State Level Seed Committee (SLSC). It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned SLSC entitled to perform the following functions: suggest the State Government on all matters relating to production, rearing, stocking, marketing, transport, import and export of fish seed and its monitoring throughout the State; support formation of Fish Seed Producers Association in the districts or such other levels to encourage competitiveness in production and marketing of quality fish seed and facilitate internal monitoring system; design formats on all related matters for submission of reports by the District Fishery Development Officer (DFDO) and plan the compilation guidelines; collect all related reports from the District Fishery Development Officers every year, etc. Full text English Website indiacode.nic.in
