Abstract This Act establishes the requirements for water supply, including levy of reasonable tariff on consumption of piped water supply within the State of Arunachal Pradesh. It sets out general conditions and procedures for water distribution to any house, land, building or premises. In particular, it regulate the system of providing water to communities for meeting their requirements both domestic and non-domestic, but does not provide for water supply for irrigation purposes. Upon payment of the required amount by the applicant under sub-clause (b) of clause (ll) of section 3, the competent authority shall issue a letter in Form WS-lV permitting the connection of consumer's main from the Government main as per the procedures stipulated under the provisions of the Act and as per the directions communicated to the applicant. The Act also prescribes offences and penalties for illegal related activities.
