Abstract: This Act amends existing legislation and makes new rules relative to fish farming, salmon fisheries, sea fisheries and protection of shellfish waters in Scotland. The Act amends the Aquaculture and Fisheries (Scotland) 2007 with the insertion of provisions for fish farm management agreements and statements. A new provision sets out the requirement for fish farm businesses to be party to farm management agreements or to maintain farm management statements. The same Act is amended in provisions concerning, among other things: powers of inspection and enforcement in respect of fish farms, including assessing the impact of a fish farm’s operations on the environment and for research purposes; escape of fish and Orders relating to commercially damaging species; movement of species, etc.; control of commercially damaging species.
