Abstract

This Chapter of the Code of Virginia establishes the Aquaculture Advisory Board within the executive branch of state government. It provides rules for composition and appointment of members and determines the powers and duties of the Board. Notably, the Board advises the Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services of Virginia on policy matters related to aquaculture. The Chapter also provides for additional powers and duties of the Commissioner, including to provide information, promote, cooperate, consult with the interest groups and generally support Virginia aquaculture.
