Abstract

This Act provides for the application of laws of New South Wales, other than criminal law, to the coastal sea adjacent to the State. Under section 6, all persons who may exercise powers and authorities conferred on them by law for the purposes of or in connection with a provision of any law in force in the State shall have and may exercise all or any of those powers and authorities for the purposes of or in connection with that provision as applying by virtue of this Act, as if the coastal sea were part of the State. Moreover, courts of the State are invested with jurisdiction in all matters arising under the provisions of the laws as applying by virtue of this Act, as if the coastal sea were part of the State.
