Abstract The purpose of the present Act is to provide regulations for the bee industry. Article 1 establishes that no person shall own or possess or control any bees unless that person has a valid certificate. Furthermore, the Act deals, amongst others, with issues such as import and transport permits, information to be given to the Minister, Chief inspectors and inspectors, powers of inspectors, quarantine, destruction orders, recovery of Minister’s costs, penalty, disclosure or publication of information.
