Abstract

These Rules are made under section 25(2) of the Royal Ordinance on Fisheries by the Director of the Department of Fisheries. They revise the rules for the registration of local fishing community organizations, so as to promote participation and support local fishing communities in management in maintenance, rehabilitation and sustainable utilization of captivity freshwater fisheries resources. Local fishery community organization" means a local fishery community organization established and registered pursuant to this Announcement. "Local fishery community" means a group of people living in the same village. The Director General of the Department of Fisheries shall be in charge of this Announcement and have the authority to issue orders. The Inspectorate is the central agency for information gathering and administration. The Provincial Fisheries Office shall be a the registration office for a local fishery organization. To facilitate registration the application may be entrusted to the fishery, which will then submit the request to the Provincial Fisheries Office. The Rules set out procedures and criteria for registration of local fishing communities. It also concerns revocation of registration and appeal against decisions.
