Abstract

These Rules are made under section 36 of the Royal Ordinance on Fisheries by the Director of the Department of Fisheries. Section 36 stipulates that any person wishing to engage in commercial fishing must obtain a commercial fishing license issued by the Director-General or a person designated by the Director General. Persons wishing to conduct commercial fishing shall apply within specified time periods to the Bangkok Fisheries Office, Department of Fisheries or in other provinces at the competent district or fishery office of the district. The supporting documents required for the application are: (1) A copy of the valid ID card; (2) a copy of Certificate of Incorporation (in the case of a juristic person) (3) a copy of the Thai Vessel Registration and a copy of the Vessel License; (4) power of attorney (In case of authorization) (5) a copy of the fishing permit in the previous fishing year; (6) the statement of equipment installation, location of the fishing vessel; (7) up-to-date photographs or digital photographs of fishing vessels and fishing gear.
