Abstract

This Act makes provision for the protection of animals by prescribing rules relative to any experiment performed on an animal and calculated to give pain. Persons wishing to carry out experiments on animals shall obtain a licence from the Minister responsible for public health. The Minister may also grant permits for experiments carried out for special purposes or requiring specific procedures. The Minister may make Rules generally for the better carrying out of the provisions of this Act.
