These regulations enter into force on 1 July 2013.
Abstract

These Regulations, consisting of 31 sections divided into six Parts, under the Animal Welfare Act 1993, establish new provisions for pig exploitation in order to avoid cruelty. They are divided as follows: Part 1 Preliminary; Part 2 pigs generally; Part 3 health and monitoring; Part 4 accommodation; Part 5 minimum space requirements; Part 6 miscellaneous; Schedule 1 establishes amended infringement notices.
