Abstract

This Act, consisting of 44 sections divided into six Parts, concerns the welfare of animals and aims at preventing cruelty to animals. It defines obligations for the management of animals and provides for the adoption of a code of practice. The Act establishes the Animal Welfare Advisory Committee and regulates its operation. Provisions concern also the use of animals for scientific purposes and for research.
