Abstract

Subchapter A - Animal Welfare is divided into the following parts: Part 1- Definition of Terms; Part 2- Regulations regarding licensing, registration, research facilities, attending veterinarian and adequate veterinary care, identification of animals, stolen animals, records, compliance with standards and holding period, miscellaneous, and importations of live dogs; Part 3- Standards setting forth rules regarding specifications for the humane handling, care, treatment, and transportation of specific animals such as dogs and cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters, nonhuman primates, other warmblooded animals, marine mammals; Part 4- Rules of Practice Governing Proceedings under the Animal Welfare Act, Part 11- Horse Protection Regulations including provisions regarding prohibitions concerning exhibitors, scar rule, inspection and detention of horses, certification and licensing, inspection, etc, and Part 12- Rules of Practice governing Proceedings under the Horse Protection Act.
