It also concerns importation of animals (including captive wild animals) into Zanzibar. Part II concerns animal diseases. It sets out measures to prevent and combat animal diseases such as reporting, disposal of carcasses, disinfecting, quarantine, etc. Part III regulates the carrying out of experiments involving animals. No person unless licensed under this Part shall perform any experiments. The Act also concerns impounding of animals (Part IV), the prohibition of cruelty regarding animals (Part V), dogs (Part VI), slaughter of animals and the handling of meat (Part VII) and general rules on the keeping of animals (Part VIII).
