The present Regulations enter into force on 1 November 2000.
Abstract

The present Regulation enacts the Animal Protection Act, 1999. In particular, the Regulations lay down provisions relating to the protection of animals. Section 3 establishes that any organization that wishes to be approved as a humane society for the purposes of the Act shall:a) apply to the Minister; and b) provide the Minister with: i) evidence satisfactory to the Minister that the organization meets the all necessary requirements; and ii) any additional information that the Minister may reasonably require to consider the application. The text consists of 15 sections divided into 4 Parts as follows: Title and interpretation (I); Animals in distress (II); Protection of certain animals against dogs (III); Repeal and coming into force (IV). One Appendix is enclosed as follows: Forms (I); Codes of practice (II).
