Abstract This Law consisting of 10 articles establishes the Animal Health Institute, a professional technical institute aiming to (i) prepare veterinary personnel to combat and treat animal diseases; (ii) examine meat intended for human consumption; (iii) maintain the safety of livestock and protect them from communicable diseases. The Institute is affiliated with the General Directorate of Animal and Veterinary Resources and the costs of the studies are fully borne by the Government.
