The Fund is designated to: a) provide aid for losses due to animal diseases or other diseases; b) cover costs for prevention, treatment and other measures to combat animal diseases and other diseases; c) provide aid for loss of animals not caused by disease or other illness; d) provide grants to the costs of measures to improve the health and hygienic conditions in the keeping of farm animals (Animal Health Service).
