Abstract The purpose of this Act is to ensure the safety of feed of plant origin in primary production and operations relating to primary production of feed. This Act regulates provisions governing quality of feed in all stages of production, processing and distribution, safety and quality of genetically modified feed in all stages of production, processing, distribution and use, feed additives and products that are the direct or indirect source of protein. This Act provides also details on labeling and packaging of feed, the register of establishments in the area of primary production of feed of plant origin, and the process of determining official and national reference laboratories. This Act is composed of 35 articles divided into the following Sections: General provisions (Sec. 1); Feed (Sec. 2); Plants (Sec. 3); Conformity assessment (Sec. 4); Official control (Sec. 5); Finance program (Sec. 6); Liabilities (Sec. 7); Penalty provisions (Sec. 8); Transitional and final provisions (Sec. 9).
