Abstract

This Act consisting of 9 articles aims at establishing an Animal Disease Free Zone (the coordinates are indicated in art.3) with the goal of eradicating contagious animal diseases and the zoogenic and otherwise diseases that endanger the human life taking the following measures (i) prevent the introduction of animal diseases or of agents causing them; (ii) restrict grazing inside the Zone by subjecting the same to conditions; (iii) prohibit entry of the animals into the Zone, save as to such conditions; and (iv) regulate animal movement outside the zone of temporary isolation. It is established a Technical Committee, including the representation of Herders Association, with the following main tasks (i) technically study and submit proposals for eradication of the various animal diseases whether by vaccination or destruction or proposals of compensation rates; (ii) establish the priority of diseases to be eradicated; and (iii) study the most efficient mean to meet the requirements and conditions of the states importing Sudanese cattle and meat. A permit of the competent authority is required to enter animals into the Free Zone.
