Abstract

The Act contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms therein employed, such as "breeding animal", "breeding register", "breeding value", etc. Male animals may be used for breeding, only if officially declared breeding animals. The Chamber of Agriculture is due to establish the breeding value of eligible animals and then to publish the findings. Insemination, artificial insemination, sperm banks, embryos, transfer of embryos are dealt with, respectively, in Part 4 and Part 5. In particular, article 10 concerns the Centres for artificial insemination which, on demand, can obtain the relevant authorization by the local authority. Finally, article 25 prescribes the penalties in case of violation. The Act consists of 28 articles.
