Abstract

The Animal, Animal Products and By-products Marketing Development Authority is established as an autonomous Federal Government Organ that shall be accountable to the Prime Minister. The Authority shall promote the marketing of animals, animal products and by-products in Ethiopia and abroad, by increasing supply and quality of the items concerned. Article 6 imposes a vast range of duties on the Authority such as to preparation of laws, regulations and policies, to issue quality control directives, to establish staging points and quarantine stations, carry out research, supervise the construction of animal processing plants, etc. The Authority shall be managed by a Board and a Manager. Powers and duties of the Board and the Manager are defined in articles 10 and 11. The Council of Ministers may issue Regulations for the implementation of this Proclamation
