Abstract This Act, consisting of 29 sections divided into eight Chapters and two Schedules, aims at consolidating and amending the law relating to the fixation of ceiling on agricultural holdings and taking over of surplus lands. It regulates land use for purposes of agriculture, or ancillary thereto, including horticulture, forest land, pasture land, waste land, plantation, etc.; and includes land deemed to be agricultural land. In addition, it regulates the ceiling area of family units, according to the different number of members to establish the extent of agricultural holdings.
