It lays down the power of Irrigation officer to construct water-course suo motu or on application by an ayacutdar. The Act provides for acquisition of land for water-course to be made under the Act by consent of the beneficiaries or otherwise. It also contains provisions for recovery of the cost of construction of water-course carried out by the Irrigation Officer.
