Abstract This Act constitutes the Andhra Pradesh Fisheries University (University) and shall consist of consist of a Chancellor, a Vice-Chancellor, a Board of Management, Academic Council, Boards of Faculties, Extension Council and Research Advisory Council. The objectives include to imparting education in different branches of Fisheries Sciences, undertaking the extension of Fisheries Sciences to the rural people, to promote research and to facilitate comprehensive development of Fisheries for increased contribution to State’s economy and set benchmark standards through appropriate interventions in fisheries production, teaching, research and extension. The Act lays down the powers and functions of the University, Officers and Authorities thereof. It provides for establishment of Fisheries Research Stations, Fisheries Krishi Vigyan Kendras and Fisheries Extension Units.
