Abstract

This Regulation of the Council of the Amhara Regional Government designates the Bahir Dar Nile River Millennium Park in the Amhara State and provides with respect to its administration and boundaries. The main objective of establishing the Park is to protect from dangers arising from human activities and to conserve the biodiversity resources it possesses through direct participation of the local inhabitants, and to create favorable conditions in which it is to be passed down to the coming generation as a heritage. The park shall have its own office, counseling board and personnel. The duties of this office are defined. A Management Plan for the park shall be prepared by the office and submitted to the Board for approval. The Regulation also specifies activities that are prohibited in the Park.
