Abstract

Amendment No. 4 to the Fishery Management Plan for the Shrimp Fishery of the Gulf of Mexico (FMP) identifies problems that developed in the fishery and revise the objectives of the FMP accordingly. The annual review process for the Tortugas Sanctuary is simplified, and the Council's and Regional Administrator's review for the Texas closure is extended. The Amendment also concerns bycatch and drowning of endangered species of sea turtles.
