This Amendment to the Fishery Management Plan for Coastal Migratory Pelagic Resources of the Gulf of Mexico and South Atlantic prohibits drift gill nets for coastal pelagics and purse seines for the overfished groups of mackerels. The use of drift gillnet gear for coastal migratory pelagic resources (king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, cobia, cero mackerel, little tunny, dolphin and in the Gulf of Mexico bluefish) in the South Atlantic and Gulf of Councils' area of jurisdiction is prohibited and the retention prohibited in other drift gillnet fisheries.
