Abstract The present Regulation establishes an operating Plan for winter wheat producers. In particular, the purposes of the Plan are to: a) initiate, conduct and carry out projects and programs related to research and studies with respect to the production, handling, marketing and processing of winter wheat, including research and studies concerning the development and use of winter wheat products; b) assist, educate and inform producers, dealers and processors in developing and improving methods regarding the production, processing and marketing of winter wheat; c) initiate and carry out advertising programs, sales promotion programs and consumer education programs to expand the market awareness and demand for winter wheat and winter wheat products, both within Alberta and in export markets; d) to assist generally in the development and promotion of the winter wheat industry in Alberta, including the development and promotion of export markets for winter wheat grown in Alberta; e) advise governments on matters concerning the winter wheat industry; f) co-operate with the Government of Canada and the Government of Alberta with respect to the maintenance of the quality and standards of the regulated product; g) in the interests of the winter wheat industry, to co-operate with other relevant organizations; h) participate in programs under the Agricultural Marketing Programs Act (Canada); i) generally to initiate, conduct and carry out projects and programs to stimulate, increase or improve the production or marketing, or both, of the regulated product.
