Abstract The purpose of the present Act is to promote and provide for the strategic and effective use of funding and other resources to meet the research and innovation priorities of the Government in the areas of agriculture, forestry, energy and the environment. Section 3 establishes the Alberta Research and Innovation Authority whose purpose is to provide strategic advice and recommendations to the Minister on research and innovation matters relating to the purposes of the present Act.
