Abstract The Instruction outlines procedures and measures for preventing air pollution originating from fuel and coal that is recognized as the prime source of pollution. Specifications on domestic and imported coal are detailed in the Annex, together with a list of all Turkey Provinces classified in accordance to the level of air pollution. Local authorities are urged to implement measures for preventing the sale and use of prohibited coal and recommendations are made in respect of environmental friendly heating systems and devices, and utlization of natural gas and fuel-oil. The Instruction deals more specifically with motor vehicles and urges the authorities concerned to monitor on exhaust emissions of vehicles. Insulation systems should be applied in buildings to decrease fuel consumption. Alternative fuel sources such as LPG, diesel, and electricity are encouraged. Full text Turkish
