The legislation includes: (a) the Sea-Fisheries and Maritime Jurisdiction Act 2006, the Lands Act, 2005, the Dumping at Sea Acts 1996 to 2006, the Aquaculture Acts 1997 to 2006, the Fisheries (Amendment) Act 2003 and other laws concerning fisheries; and (b) Regulations implementing Community legislation concerning, among other things, animal health and welfare, quality of shellfish waters, trade in animals and animal products and fisheries management and conservation.
