Abstract

The present Act lays down provisions relating to the marketing of agricultural products. The Act was originally for the Northwest Territories and subsequently adapted by the Territory of Nunavut. Section 2 establishes that a producer may submit to the Council a proposal for the establishment of a Plan for the regulation by a producer board of the marketing of an agricultural product. The text – consisting of 35 sections – deals with the following aspects: definitions, establishment of plan, appeal, Council, producer boards, agencies, enforcement, offences and punishment and miscellaneous.
