Abstract

These Rules prescribe standards for the quality and packing and marking of horticultural produce intended for exportation and provide for inspection of such produce. They shall apply to the agricultural produce specified in the First Schedule. An inspector shall reject any consignment of scheduled produce intended for export if prescribed quality standards are not met or, if the produce is approved, issue an export certificate in respect of approved produce. Any person who exports any scheduled produce, unless such produce has first been inspected in accordance with these Rules and a valid export certificate exists, shall be guilty of an offence.
