The long title of the principal Act shall read as follows: "An Act to amend and consolidate the laws relating to the control, prevention and eradication of agricultural pests, noxious plants and plant diseases and to extend cooperation in the control of the movement of pests in international trade and for matters connected therewith.". Further amendments concern, inter alia, Section 2 on certain definitions, the insertion of new subsection (5) to Section 13 on compensation for damages, the insertion of Section 19A on the establishment of general penalties.
