Abstract

This Regulation deals with the management of waste from intensive livestock. For each intensive livestock operation, a waste storage plan and a waste management plan are required. The Regulation contains provisions on the preparation and approval of plans for the management of solid and liquid waste. Under section 6, a holding pond is required to control contaminated runoff from livestock facilities and from solid manure storage areas. The Regulation is completed by an appendix that specifies, for each species, the number of animals that constitute and animal unit.
