Abstract

These Regulations, made by the Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Climate and Rural Resettlement in terms of section 50 of the Agricultural Marketing Authority Act, provide for control and regulate the marketing of macadamia nuts. They require growers, buyers or processors of macadamia nuts to register with the Agricultural Marketing Authority. in addition, buyers of macadamia nuts shall be licensed by the Authority. Every grower, processor or buyer of macadamia nuts and or macadamia products shall keep records of size of orchards, quantity of nuts produced, processed, traded, bought, sold or received, exported or imported by him or her in the course of production, marketing or processing. Transactions relating to all macadamia nuts shall be registered. The Minister may annually fix the minimum prices of macadamia nuts.
