The Act is applicable to leases as well as sales. The Act provides legal guidelines for warranties, sales contracts, emergency parts service and compensation claims. Failure to provide parts and service in a timely manner may result in an award to the farmer from the Agricultural Implements Compensation Fund. For the purpose of the Act an “agricultural implement” is any implement, equipment or machine with a retail selling price of $5,000 or more, used or intended for use on a farm. Section 7 establishes that there shall continue to be a board known as the Agricultural Implements Board consisting of not less than three or more than seven members appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council.
