Entry into force notes
This Act enters into force immediately.
Abstract

This Act establishes the Agricultural Development Bank of Pakistan. The scope and functions of this Bank, established under the Agricultural Development Bank of Pakistan Ordinance, 1961, and the rules and regulations made thereunder shall extend mutatis mutandis to the whole Azad Jammu and Kashmir Territory and the said Bank shall function in the said Territory as it functions in Pakistan. Notwithstanding anything contained in any law for the time being in force, it shall be lawful for any agriculturist or person engaged in cottage industries in rural areas to pledge, mortgage, or assign any kind or quantity of movable or immovable property to the Bank, or otherwise to create a charge on any such property, in order to secure the repayment of the loan and the Bank shall, in accordance with the provisions of the Agricultural Development Bank Ordinance, be competent to deal with and recover its dues from any property so pledged, mortgaged or assigned.
