Various provisions concern rights of societies with respect to land. If any Crown lands are set apart and reserved for the purposes of any society, the Governor-General may grant such lands or any part thereof to the society. A society may let on lease any portion of the lands so granted (sect. 6). A society may purchase or otherwise acquire any freehold or leasehold lands in accordance with section 8.
